Making the Invisible Visible

In Invisible made visible specially trained tour guides make the invisible visible through feeling, smelling and listening. In the pilot phase, the museum worked closely with hands-on experts from Koninklijke Visio. This allowed the content of this guided tour to be fully geared to the target audience. In addition, Vision helped the specially trained CODA tour guides develop their skills.

Furthermore, a number of artists from the CODA Paper Art exhibition produced samples of works that can be felt by the participants in these guided tours. Additionally, several works of art have been produced using a 3D printer. Visually impaired participants can be lent iPads, which they can use to zoom in on certain sections of one or more paintings. Tour guides are stationed at different artworks each time, and folding chairs are available so everyone can be seated during the explanations and assignments.
